about

Naomi Pacifique is a Swiss-Dutch artist. She grew up in Lausanne, Switzerland, and moved to the UK to pursue her multi-disciplinary practice at 18 years old.  She graduated from Oxford University with an Mst in Creative Writing and from London Film School with an MA in Filmmaking. Her graduation film from London Film School, 'after a room', was awarded the Pardino d'Argento Swiss Life at the 74th edition of Locarno Film Festival in August 2021. Her subsequent short film ‘looking she said I forget’, also premiered at Locarno Film Festival, in 2024, and has received an EFA nomination from Cyprus ISFF.

Across the arts, Naomi’s work interests itself in intimacy and deep ecology, exploring the spaces found there to discover and reinvent both oneself and the environment one is surrounded by.

She is currently developing her first two feature films, 'after the night, the night', and 'rocks like skin like thoughts'.  'after the night, the night' took part in the 2023 edition of the Ikusmira Berriak Residency Program of San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it was subsequently awarded the Elea Media Post-production Award at the festival’s co-production market in 2023. The film also took part in ECAM’s Start Me Up residency 2023 and Locarno Film Festival’s feature film residency in 2022.

She has participated in Berlinale Talents Short Form Station 2022, the 'Apichaptong Weerasethakul Lab: Filming in the Amazong', and Locarno Film Festival's Spring Academy 2024.

In September 2023, she released her first album 'look, the wind is coming for us'. Her work has been published by Ambit Magazine, exhibited in London Gallery Cafés, and performed in London and Oxford venues.

The last short film she produced and assistant directed, Filipiñana, was awarded the Silver Bear Shorts Jury Prize at the 70th Berlinale, among several other awards at international film festivals. She more recently co-produced 'A Bird Called Memory' by Leonardo Martinelli, and 'The Human Surge 3' by Teddy Williams.

She is co-founder and co-director of Idle Eye production company, alongside Rafael Manuel & Albert Kuhn.

She is currently based in Amsterdam, with secondary bases in Geneva, Switzerland, and Lima, Peru.
